IT Services, Cybersecurity & Field Technology for Utilities

Your technology environment extends well beyond traditional business IT. You may be supporting employees and cloud systems, securing ICS and OT environments, keeping remote assets connected, and equipping crews with technology they depend on in the field.

Pearl Solutions Group helps you bring those needs together through ongoing IT support, cybersecurity, industrial networking, fleet mounting and field technology.

Your team is likely responsible for much more than laptops, servers and business applications. Technology now reaches across cybersecurity, operational systems, communications, vehicles, remote assets and the tools your crews rely on every day.

Experience That Extends from the Office to the Field

For more than 30 years, Pearl Solutions Group has supported organizations with technology that has to work reliably every day. Our experience with utilities extends across IT support, cybersecurity, operational environments, fleet mounting and technology used in the field.

That broader experience helps us understand how decisions in one part of your environment can affect another.

Growing Alongside a Water Utility Since 2019

When a water utility began working with Pearl Solutions Group in March 2019, its technology needs looked very different than they do today. Since then, the organization has grown exponentially, and Pearl has grown alongside it, supporting that growth with managed IT services, cybersecurity and infrastructure support.

As the organization expanded, Pearl continued to adapt with it. Our team has helped support new technology needs, strengthen cybersecurity and take on larger initiatives as they emerged. During a recent office move, Pearl prepared and set up the network for the new location, helping ensure the technology environment was ready to support the next phase of growth.

Because Pearl already understood the organization’s systems, users and priorities, new initiatives could be approached with the broader environment in mind rather than as isolated projects.

That is the value of a long-term technology partnership: support that evolves with your organization as needs, priorities and projects change.

Technology planning can cross IT, cybersecurity, operational systems, vehicles and the tools your crews use in the field. The 2027 Utility Technology Planning Guide helps you review those priorities together and identify what may need attention before your budget is finalized.

Questions Utility IT Leaders Ask

Can an MSP work alongside an existing internal IT team?

Yes. A co-managed IT model lets you keep your internal team while adding capacity, coverage or specialized expertise where you need it. Pearl Solutions Group can supplement areas such as help desk support, infrastructure, cybersecurity and other ongoing technology needs without requiring you to outsource the entire IT function.

What should utilities look for in a managed service provider?

When evaluating managed service providers, look beyond basic help desk support. Your provider should understand critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, operational technology, field operations and the reliability requirements of your environment. It is also important to understand how the provider works with existing internal resources and how much experience they have supporting organizations like yours.

How are managed IT services different for utilities?

Your environment may extend across business IT, cybersecurity, industrial control systems, remote assets, communications infrastructure, vehicles and field technology. A provider supporting you needs to understand how those environments interact and where operational requirements differ from a traditional office environment.

Can a managed service provider support both IT and OT environments?

Some can, but traditional IT experience does not automatically mean a provider has ICS and OT security expertise. You should evaluate the provider’s experience with industrial environments, IT/OT connectivity, operational requirements and control systems such as SCADA.

Does Pearl Solutions Group provide co-managed IT for utilities?

Yes. Pearl can work alongside your existing IT team through an ongoing co-managed relationship, providing additional capacity, coverage, infrastructure support and cybersecurity expertise while your internal team continues to manage the areas that make sense for your organization.

Can Pearl Solutions Group help with fleet mounting and field technology?

Yes. Pearl Solutions Group supports vehicle technology mounting, rugged computers and tablets, docks and peripherals, power and cabling, device staging and deployment, industrial cellular routers and antennas, remote connectivity and other technology used by crews in the field.
